At EUFOREA, we strengthen your voice through Patient Advocacy:
We listen to patients and carers to know more about their experiences, challenges, and unmet needs. With this information, we can create, improve, and advocate for solutions that truly impact the future of respiratory care, together.
You know your journey best…
We believe that patients and carers are experts in their own journey.
You may have faced challenges in getting care, finding clear information, or feeling fully heard. Treatments or care may not always reflect what matters most to you, and there may be challenges you’ve experienced that we, or others outside the patient community, might not even think about.
Your experience can make a difference!
Whatever challenges you’ve faced along the way, together we can turn your insights into action and address them.
By sharing your experiences and feedback, you:
In this section, we highlight the various ways you can connect, engage, take action and really be part of the change.
We believe that patients and carers are experts in their own journey.
Whether you share feedback once, occasionally, or regularly, your experiences help create awareness, educational resources, and shape care policies for patients and carers across the globe.
By participating, you join an international community collaborating to improve life for everyone living or caring for someone with airway diseases.
Â
Every insight, story, or suggestion matters.
There are many ways to share your voice and help. You can:
Medium to high time commitment
4 to 6 online, 1-hour meetings per year
Become part of a group of patients and carers who regularly share their experiences and ideas with EUFOREA. Together, we exchange experiences on living with airway diseases. EUFOREA takes these insights and creates initiatives, such as awareness campaigns and educational resources, that reflect real patient and carer needs. In its turn influencing the future of respiratory care.
Participation is flexible, and registering does not obligate you to join every meeting.
Low time commitment
About 5 to 15 minutes per survey
Surveys (short question lists) are a simple way to share your views, needs, and experiences related to a specific health topic. Completing one takes just a few minutes and can help us identify what patients and carers find most important.
EUFOREA surveys do not ask for your name or contact details, so your responses stay anonymous (meaning we cannot link these back to you).
Depending on the survey topic, we may ask about your health condition, age, country, sex at birth, or other background information (demographics) to help us understand the different experiences and needs across patient groups.
We treat all answers confidentially and use these only for EUFOREA initiatives.
You can:
Registering your interest does not mean you are obligated to participate. It does mean that we will inform you when a new survey is available. You decide at that time if you want to contribute.
Medium time commitment

Low to high time commitment
The time commitment changes per activity. You can choose how much you want to be involved. We’ll always explain the expected time commitment up front
From time to time, EUFOREA invites patients and carers to take part in specific projects such as focus groups, sharing patient or carer stories, or reviewing patient- or carer-facing information.
These opportunities can vary in time and format: some might just take one (online) meeting, while others may involve several sessions, occasional preparation, or no meeting at all.
In such a project, you might:
Every contribution helps EUFOREA make resources, education, and advocacy more meaningful and relevant to those living with airway diseases.
Registering your interest does not mean you are obligated to participate. It does mean that we will inform you when an opportunity comes up. You decide at that time if you want to contribute.
EUFOREA also supports activities that bring people together to raise awareness about airway diseases and inspire others to take action.
A great example is the 20 km run of Brussels, where patients, carers, healthcare professionals, and supporters can join the EUFOREA team to shine a light on asthma and other airway diseases.
You can be part of the EUFOREA delegation on 31 May 2026!

EUFOREA will pay your entry fee and provide a colourful EUFOREA jersey.

Whether you want to run or walk, everyone is welcome to join and make an impact.
