Rhinology stands at a pivotal moment. Decades of scientific progress have transformed our understanding of the nose and sinuses — from the management of rhinosinusitis and rhinitis to the emerging role of the nasal airway as a gateway to the brain and the broader united airways. As the field looks ahead, it is fitting to reflect on how far we have come and to chart a course for the future.
This congress brings together 150 European rhinologists alongside a world-class faculty for a landmark day of learning, debate, and collegial exchange. The event holds particular significance as it marks the retirement of Professor Wytske Fokkens — a defining figure in rhinology whose contributions to research, clinical practice, and medical education have shaped the specialty for an entire generation.
Chaired by Professor Wytske Fokkens and Professor Sietze Reitsma, the programme spans the full breadth of modern rhinology, including rhinosinusitis, rhinitis, smell loss, facial plastic surgery, ethics, and unmet research needs.
This symposium is positioned for CME accreditation, and key findings will be disseminated through a post-event manuscript published in a peer-reviewed journal.
